I’m receiving an error “Unhandled object exception: Invalid TLV record. EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTION.” How do I resolve this?
Invalid TLV is often an issue with database connectivity and/or tables that may not be accessible at runtime. However, there are other things that can cause this error as well.
Recommendations:
Try launching a given report with the same credentials against the same database using Crystal directly. Once that is successful, try running the report in DRM again.
Check that the report is not reporting on tables that don’t exist in the connecting database.
This error can also be caused by a corrupt report file or a report file from the wrong version of Crystal. If the report was created in an older version of Crystal, open the report and save it in a newer version of Crystal.
Lastly, if you are running Windows Vista, uninstall the Dynamics Report Manager Launcher from Add or Remove Programs, then download it again from our website and reinstall it in order to be sure that you are using the current version. We updated the Crystal Launcher component when Vista came out because of TLV errors.
