How to set up a parameter in Dynamics Report Manager to pass the User ID that is printing the report

Subject:

You have a USERID parameter on your report for the User that is printing the report. The steps here describe how to set up the parameter in Dynamics Report Manager (DRM) to pass the User ID that is running the report.  

Resolution:

These are the steps to follow:

1. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Setup | Dynamics Report Manager | Dynamics Report Manager Explorer.
2. Select the Report, and then click the Edit Report button.
3. In the Report Maintenance window, click the Parameters tab.
4. In the Parameter Maintenance window:
   1. Enter UserID for the Parameter Name field and the Parameter Prompt field.
   2. Select String for Data Type.
   3. Mark both of the following Parameter Options:
      1. Pass this parameter.
      2. Hide this parameter from User entry.
   4. In the Default Values section:
      1. Mark Calculated.
      2. Select the Current User for Value 1, and then click Insert.
   5. Click OK to save the parameter.
