Disable Auditor for Testing Purposes

Describes steps to disable Auditor for testing purposes.

Resolutions

Resolution 1

Disable Auditor in GP.

  1. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Customize | Customization Status.
  2. Highlight Auditor in the list.
  3. Click Disable.
  4. Close out of GP and log back in.

Resolution 2

Edit the registration key.

  1. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Setup | Auditor | Auditor Setup.
  2. Click Registration.
  3. Add an X to the end of the registration key.
  4. Exit GP and relaunch.
  5.  Make sure you see “Key is invalid”.

Note: The Test company might still work.

Resolution 3

Remove access to all companies.

  1. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Setup | Auditor | Auditor Groups.
  2. Select a Group ID.
  3. Click Access.
  4. Unmark all companies.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Do this for each Group ID.

Resolution 4

Edit the launch file.

  1. Log out of GP.
  2. Open the GP code folder and open the dynamics.set file in Notepad.
  3. Decrease the top number by 1.
  4. Find the following lines and remove them.

Note:  Turning Auditor off will not cause the loss of any data, it will simply stop adding audits to the log.
