Many companies use separate ERP and CRM systems to manage sales to their end customers. It’s not uncommon for them to rely on CRM systems like Dynamics CRM, resulting in data that exists entirely outside of their ERP.

The Challenge: Complex Pricing Needs

Recently, we worked with a customer transitioning from Dynamics GP to Dynamics BC, planning to use Dynamics CRM as their main quoting and order entry system. However, Dynamics CRM isn’t designed to handle complex pricing calculations, which was a critically important business need for them.

The Solution: ERP CRM Integration with Rockton Pricing Management

Fortunately, Rockton Pricing Management’s (RPM) flexible API structure facilitates seamless ERP CRM integration, ensuring accurate pricing for orders placed through the CRM. RPM works with Dynamics GP, Dynamics BC, and Dynamics CRM, allowing the customer to implement an automated pricing solution during the transition between ERPs. This integration saves valuable time and resources, ensuring they are ready to go as soon as the new implementation is completed.

How Data Sync Ensures Accurate Pricing

Typically, this integration designates the ERP system as the master source for customer and item data. RPM utilizes a feature called Data Sync to keep this information synchronized from the ERP to RPM. Similarly, copies of this data are transferred to the CRM system, reinforcing the importance of ERP CRM integration. The CRM can then call RPM with the correct customer and item IDs to retrieve accurate pricing. Moving orders from the CRM to the ERP is a standard business process many companies follow.

Maintaining Real-Time Pricing with Online Catalogs

Many companies, like this one, also maintain extensive online catalogs of item prices, which often rely on an ERP backbone but need real-time pricing updates. Several of our customers use a combination of our technologies, including Data Sync, cataloging, data warehousing tools, and our standard APIs to store and retrieve information from RPM, showcasing the benefits of ERP CRM integration for online pricing management.

The Growing Trend of ERP CRM Integration

Integrating CRM systems with RPM for accurate pricing is a growing trend among businesses seeking to streamline operations and maintain competitive pricing strategies. ERP CRM integration is proving to be a robust ingredient in many companies’ technology stacks, enhancing their operational efficiency and pricing accuracy.
