How to use the Dynamics GP Help Within GP

GP Help will help you learn about the fields, buttons, and processes in Dynamics GP. 

One of the most useful ways to use GP Help, is inside of any window in GP, click F1. 

This will open GP Help, with the specific information for that window already populated. 

For example, in Customer Maintenance { Cards | Sales | Customer }, if you click F1, here is the GP Help window that will open: 

How to use the Dynamics GP Help within GP

Right hand pane: 

Overview: The Overview link gives the path to the window, a brief description of the window, and links to pages in GP Help that have related information. 

Fields: The Fields link will give information related to various fields in the window.  

** Note that not all fields may be included in the help file 

Buttons: The Buttons link will give information related to various buttons in the window. 

** Note that not all buttons may be included in the help file 

Left hand pane:

Contents tab: The Contents tab lists the contents of the GP Help file, grouped together by topic.  You can click on any listing to go to that specific GP Help file page. 

Index: The Index tab lists the contents of the GP Help file, listed in alphabetical order.  You can also search by keyword. 

Search: The Search tab allows you to search the entire GP Help file by keyword. 

Favorites: The Favorites tab allows you to save a GP Help file topic page, for quick access later. 

 

GP Help is a useful and powerful tool to help Users better find and understand information inside of Dynamics GP.
