System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GPXX\SmrtFill.cnk’ is denied.

Error
The following error message is being thrown after installing SmartFill and trying to launch Dynamics GP.

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GPXX\SmrtFill.cnk' is denied.

at System.IO._Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.File.InternalCopy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite, Boolean checkHost)
at System.IO.File.Copy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite)
at FoundationProducts.frmMain.Install(Object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e)

This article is specific to SmartFill but is also true for other products.

Cause
When the SmrtFill,exe file and/or Dynamics GP are right-clicked on and ran as administrator.

Resolution
Be sure to right-click on the SmrtFill.exe and chose to ‘Run as Administrator’.  You will also need to do this when launching Dynamics GP.
