I recently changed servers and copied my databases and User information over to the new server. How can I now force all Users to change their password at next login?
Moving to a new server causes password encryption to become broken and the password to be invalid. The Password Policy in the Dynamics GP Toolbox can force Users to change their password at next login, but ONLY when the password is valid and encrypted. Since moving to the new server has caused the password to become invalid, the Password Policy tool no longer recognizes the User. Therefore, it will not prompt the User to reset their password.
Recommendation:
You will need to reset the passwords by working with Microsoft support directly. They should have a script or method to get the logins from the old server to the new server. Once the Users have valid passwords, only then can you use the Password Policy tool in the Dynamics GP Toolbox to force the User(s) to change their password at next GP login.
