How do I get the Activity Tracking ‘Failed Login Attempts’ to be tracked in GP?
This feature is not related to any Rockton Software products. However, we did find this to be a known issue with Microsoft Dynamics GP in version 10, 2010 and 2010R2. It is logged as bug ID #5105 and you can learn more about it by logging into the Microsoft website.
The timeline for Microsoft fixing this issue is unknown at this time.
The issue occurs since the user hasn’t logged in and connected to the SQL Server yet, and they enter an incorrect login or an invalid user name, the tracking tables are unable to record the activity to the SY_Security_Log (SY05000) table because the users aren’t connected to the SQL Server yet. The Activity Tracking feature only works once we’re connected to the server so we can record the activity.
