Microsoft Dynamics GP is hanging when the SmartFill Make a Selection window opens

Issues:

Issue 1: Microsoft Dynamics GP is hanging when the Make a Selection window opens.

Issue 2: Microsoft Dynamics GP hard closes when User tries to click the X button in the Make a Selection window prior to the results appearing in the window.

Causes:

Cause 1: The SmartList Options Initial results to display option value needs to be reduced. (See Resolution 1.)

Cause 2: The tempdb database needs to be optimized. (See Resolution 2.)

Resolutions:

Resolution 1:

1. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | SmartFill | Objects.
2. Click Actions | Options.
3. Change Initial results to display of 1000 to 25.
4. Click OK.
5. Click OK.
