At Rockton, Work Simpler & Easier is not just our motto; it’s a lifestyle. Every year, together, our team takes time away to rejuvenate so that we are able to provide quality service for our customers. Here are a few things the Rockton family enjoyed at our company retreat in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Our recent company retreat in Steamboat Springs, Colorado was a memorable experience. As a remote team, spending five days together in the mountains was both refreshing and valuable. The breathtaking beauty of the mountains left a lasting impression, especially as it was my first time being in the mountains.

Activities like fly fishing, focused sessions around selfcare and experiencing the hot springs were my highlights of the retreat, offering a chance to unwind and connect with nature. The retreat provided an excellent opportunity for coworkers who don’t often see each other to bond and strengthen relationships.

As the retreat came to an end, it was a bittersweet feeling. While I looked forward to returning home to my children, the connections made during our time together was deeply appreciated.

I want to give a special thanks to Kelli and Mark for their thoughtful planning and dedication to creating such a meaningful experience. Their efforts are a true demonstration of Rockton’s commitment to fostering a strong team culture and valuing the importance of face-to-face interactions, even in a remote work environment.

This retreat reinforced why Rockton is a great place to work, highlighting the company’s investment in its employees and the power of shared experiences.

Fly Fishing my favorite.  The morning drive to the mountains, the quiet serene scenery was just amazing.  Having a guide to help learn was extremely helpful to alleviate any stress and made it really fun.  My dad was into fly fishing, and I always wanted to learn so this trip created some beautiful memories for me.  Thank you and Mark for this great experience.

Fave retreat moments: the fly fishing was a lot of fun, even though I didn’t do any fishing; playing guitar and hanging out at the fire pit; the breath work thing was insane! And the massage after was excellent; karaoke (two songs I’d never done before and I think I managed to pull them off ok!)

My favorite moment from the retreat was going fly fishing and catching four trout.

Though the water was too cold for me to wade longer than 5 minutes or so!

Despite not being that kind of an ‘outdoorsman’, the fly fishing was pretty cool to do. Also, the hot springs were a new experience for me. In both cases, I had the chance to spend some time talking with Teammates that I don’t always interact with on a day-to-day basis so that was pretty great.

My favorite moment at the retreat was definitely the fly fishing. It is one of those things that I truly enjoy and seldom make time for myself to do. I firmly agree with the old adage “There is no such thing as a bad day of fishing!”

Mark

I’m celebrating being in business in this amazing community for 25 years this month!

My favorite part of the retreat was the amazing meals we shared together.

September is a month that I feel like gets sort of lost between the shuffle of the start of fall events in August and October. But I kind of like that, the days are warm, while the nights are chilly. It’s my favorite time of year. And this year, the Rockton family got to get out on a river or lake and try our hand at some Fly fishing, which was a lovely and relaxing experience. And finally, my dad’s birthday would have fallen in September and always enjoyed that. This time of year there isn’t as many of those events to get the family together, so it’s a good amuse-buche in preparation towards the holiday and family events that end out the year. Miss you dad!
